Fall 2021 iPad Rumors: A Bigger iPad Mini 6 & the Cheapest Ever Entry-Level iPad 9

Apple's April 'Spring Loaded' event brought us a new iPad Pro, but rumor has it that there will be more iPad releases this fall. Reliable Apple leakers are predicting an entry-level iPad that’s cheaper than ever before! Plus, the display on the iPad Mini is expected to get bigger as it loses the Home button. Related: Everything Apple Announced at the WWDC 2021 Keynote Jump To: * New iPads Availability & Price * The Cheapest Entry-Level iPad Ever * A Larger, Lighter iPad 10.5 with a Home Button * An A13 Bionic Chipset, 4GB of RAM, & 64GB of Storage * iPad Mini Rumors * iPad Pro Rumors New iPad Availability & Price A sixth-generation iPad mini and an entry-level iPad (ninth generation) are expected to be released this September or October alongside the iPhone 13. If the new iPad mini isn't released in 2021, there's a chance it might come in the spring of 2022. According to TechRadar, the iPad mini will likely cost $399, just like its predecessor. The new entry-level iPad might also be coming out this fall, but Apple hasn't confirmed this. Rumor has it that it will be the cheapest iPad yet, targeting students with a jaw-dropping cost of $299. There are also whispers from Bloomberg about a new iPad Pro with a glass back coming in 2022, even though Apple just released a new one a few months ago. Return to top The Cheapest Entry-Level iPad Ever Fans were disappointed that the Spring Apple Event introduced a new iPad Pro but not an entry-level iPad. So now, many are hoping to see it released this fall or in early 2022. There have been reports about a new entry-level iPad since the launch of the 10.2-inch iPad (eighth generation) in 2020. According to a leak by Twitter user @cozyplanes that has since been deleted, iPad 9 will be the cheapest iPad ever created with a predicted price of $299. Although we cannot confirm the reliability of the Tweet, the cost of a current entry-level iPad is already $299 with the Apple Store education discount. Return to top A Larger, Lighter 10.5-Inch iPad with a Home Button The ninth-generation iPad is also referred to as the iPad 10.5 due to its size according to TechRadar. It is supposedly going to be 0.3 inches bigger than the 10.2. According to CNBeta, a Chinese tech site, the new iPad will be thinner and lighter, despite being larger. They also claim that it will keep the Touch ID button despite many Apple products ditching it in their newer products. Return to top An A13 Bionic Chipset, 4 GB of RAM & 64 GB of Storage The iPhone 11 phones came with A13 Bionic chips, and the ninth-generation iPad is expected to follow suit. The CNBeta leak also suggests that the iPad will have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage which is double the base storage of the eighth-generation iPad.  Return to top iPad Mini Rumors According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the sixth-generation iPad mini will have thinner bezels and no Home button to make the current 7.9-inch display bigger. Since rumors are talking about an 8.5- to 9-inch display, the size of the actual device might also be a little bigger to provide a better experience for iPad mini fans. Return to top iPad Pro Rumors Yes, we did just get a new iPad Pro, but people are already talking about the next one. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claims that Apple is working on a new iPad Pro with wireless MagSafe charging. He also predicts that the 2022 iPad Pro will be able to reverse-charge other wireless devices. In order to offer MagSafe charging, the new iPad Pro will need to have a glass back rather than the current aluminum enclosure. These potential changes will make the new iPad Pro look a little more like the newer iPhone models.  Since there are rumors about the MagSafe charger, there is also talk about a charging mat that can simultaneously charge multiple devices. Although Apple's AirPower project was canceled, the company is said to have something similar up its sleeve for the future. Who knows, maybe it will be able to charge the new iPad Pro as well!
