Sennheiser is a well-respected headphone and earbud maker, and I've used its wired headphones in the past. So I was happy for the opportunity to try the Momentum True Wireless 2 Earbuds ($299.95) when Sennheiser offered a review unit to test. The Momentum True Wireless earbuds deliver impressive sound thanks to the built-in equalizer and are still remarkably small. Despite the size, they still manage to offer 7 hours of use and 28 total with the charging case.
Speaking of the charging case, it is quite attractive thanks to the fashionable fabric cover. It recharges via USB-C (USB-A to USB-C cable included along with different sized ear tips) which will appeal to iPad Pro and Android owners. Unlike Apple's AirPods and AirPods Pro, the Sennheiser Momentum 2 do not charge wirelessly via Qi, which is a surprise given the price. The built-in voice prompts made pairing easy and easily work with your phone's voice assistant with the earbuds' surface touch controls.
There's a free companion app for customizing sound, touch controls, and voice assistant. Like Apple's AirPods Pro, these have active noise cancellation and a helpful Transparency option to hear important sounds around you.
Pros
- Sennheiser quality in a set of True Wireless earbuds
- Attractive and fashionable fabric covered charging case
- Companion app for customizing sound, touch controls, and voice assistant
- Active noise cancellation and Transparency option
- Compact earbuds with 7 hours of battery life and 28 total via case
Cons
- Expensive
Final Verdict
The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Earbuds are an impressive, attractive, great sounding set of wireless earbuds that could benefit from Qi wireless charging.
