How to Add a Workout Complication to Your Watch Face


The Apple Watch Workout app is a fantastic assistant for those of us who like to count calories, paces, or heartbeats. If you work out as often as doctors recommend, then you might want to add a shortcut on your watch face so you can reach the app with a single tap. Such shortcuts are called "complications," a word taken from the ancient and honorable trade of watch-making, where it means any function of a watch face besides time-keeping. The Workout complication allows you to open the Workout app right from the watch face. To get started, all you need is your Apple Watch. Follow these simple steps:

How to add a Workout App Shortcut to Your Apple Watch Face:

  1.  On your Apple Watch, 3D touch the face.
  2. Tap Customize.
  3. Swipe left on the face until you reach the Complications menu. This is the last one as you swipe left.

  4. Tap one of the complication locations on the watch face to select it. It will be highlighted with a green outline.
  5. Rotate the Digital Crown until you find the Workout complication.

  6. Press the Digital Crown again to exit the customization menu and then press it again to finish.

Now you can go straight to the Workout app from that watch face.
